Consecutive Interpretation
Consecutive interpretation is used primarily for small groups and one-on-one situations, including interviews, parent-teacher conferences, depositions, medical consultations, etc.
The Method
Deborah speaks in English. The interpreter then renders this into American Sign Language for the audience or individual. The audience or individual responds in American Sign Language, which is then redered into English for Deborah.
This type of interpreting is ideal for both informal and formal settings.
